What Six Weeks Looks Like

Students spend six weeks moving from “what is theatre” to a finished performance in front of an audience. Along the way they analyze a script, build a character through voice and movement, design a costume and a set, write and perform a monologue and learn how to give a fellow actor useful feedback.

Eighteen sessions. Three a week. Forty-five minutes each. Built for upper elementary through grade 9, and written so a classroom teacher can run it without a theatre background.

The two guides mirror each other. Teachers get the full instructional plan, students get the workbook pages, warm-ups and reflection prompts that go with it.
